Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

This month I have worked on the underscoring for Tennesee Williams' play "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" with fellow musicians Simon Beddoe, Matthew Bourne, Richard Ormrod and Joost Hendrickx. We have created a unique improvised soundtrack for the play, working alongside the actors to make something fully intergrated with their perfomance.
There's a link to the Guardian newspaper online, a video about the making of the music for this exciting project.

So here we are...
Welcome to my new website and thanks for visiting!

First off I'd like to thank the multi talented Graham Garside for his work on this wonderful website!
Graham is a fantastic guitarist, who I am fortunate enough to play with.
What can I say, other than, if you like what you see or need a guitarist/guitar teacher then contact Graham and I'm sure he'll oblige!
Here's a link to his website -  http://www.leedsguitarlessons.com/

I've got a few new and exciting projects coming up in 2012,
including a trio with Jamie Taylor and Dave Walsha new 9 piece band led by multi instrumentalist Al Wooda piano trio with Jamil Sheriff and Dave Walsh and the aforementioned trio with Graham Garside.

Some things with existing bands too, including a couple of gigs with the Yorkshire Jazz Orchestra (starting rehearsals soon!).
Finishing off mixing and designing the debut release from Svarc Trio featuring myself - double/electric bass, Nik Svarc - guitar and Dave Walsh - drums. With guest appearances from Russell Van Den Berg - tenor saxophone and Matthew Bourne - fender rhodes. Release date coming soon!!!

Look out for some more blog action soon...
All the best, Garry.
